iPod touch 8gb, 1.1.3 ziphone jailbreak, 1.4.2 mobile scrobbler + long & frequent buffers on wifi

Hello,

On my 8gb iPod touch and my friends 16gb both running scrobbler 1.4.2 and 1.1.3 iPod touch firmware (8gb = ziphone jailbreak from 1.1.3) and the other 16gb i'm not sure how it was jailbroken.

The Mobile scrobbler is great and installed fine although on the same wifi that I listen to last.fm (through the os x client on my macbook pro) without any buffer issues I have frequent and long buffers on my iPod.

This seems like it must be something on the iPod or the mobile scrobbler itself as it works fine without ever buffering (having to stop the song to buffer several times on my iPod) while it tries to play through 1 track, while working perfectly fine on my laptop on the same wifi.

Any suggestions? I can post a debug log or whatever, although I'm not sure what help it would provide.

Thanks for the bug report! The official Last.fm software includes an option to adjust the buffer size, and by default they use a much larger buffer than MobileScrobbler? does. I will include an option to increase the buffer size in the next version. Thanks again for reporting this!

Hey Sam,

The version prior to the 1.44 beta that I just downloaded (I think there was one version in between) worked a lot better. I think still allowing the user to set whatever buffer cache they'd like would be the easiest as opposed to an intelligent algorithm IMHO; but obviously I'll support your best judgment.

I'll try out this 1.44 beta and i'll tell you what I find also, still an 8gb iPod touch ziphone jailbreak running 1.1.3 w/ official software update (iPhone apps).
